Worldview Participants See Off
2012 Winter Semester at Farewell Dinner
30 March 2012 | Twenty-two executives and participants of the UNA of New York Worldview Institute Winter 2012 semester gathered at the National Arts Club in New York for their graduation dinner on Friday evening, March 30. The keynote speaker was Ioannis Vrailas, Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations.
Executive Director Ann Nicol, welcomed the participants followed by a greeting from the President, Paula Rice-Jackson. Also present at the dinner were Robin van Puyenbroeck, Treasurer of UNA-NY, Board Member Trisha Bauman, and John Busuttil, First Counsellor of the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations.
The Worldview Institute opened to UNA-NY members in 2007 and is an Executive Training program, providing a forum to young professionals in which they can engage and discuss global issues with experts in foreign policy and international affairs. The sessions are held twice a year in New York for a ten week period. During the 2012 Winter Semester some of the topics covered were Foreign Policy and the BRIC countries, the European Union, U.S.-Pakistan relations, China, and the Asia-Pacific region. To date, the Worldview Institute has graduated over 150 professionals from the tri-state area.
