Alberto M. Ramos
Alberto M. Ramos is a Vice-President within the Emerging Markets Economic Research Group at Goldman Sachs & Co in New York.
He joined Goldman in 2003 and is responsible for the macroeconomic coverage of Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Alberto was a Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC for 6 years, where he worked with Argentina, Brazil, and Turkey and researched on issues related to debt sustainability, fiscal-monetary dominant regimes, and debt restructurings.
His written work has been published in the Journal of Applied Economics, IMF Working Papers and Issues in Financial Regulation of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, among others. Mr. Ramos has earned a Masters and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago specializing in Finance and Money and Banking. He has taught economics and finance at the University of Chicago and the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa.
Alberto was born in Portugal and lives in Manhattan.
