John M Zindar
John M Zindar has had a broad, eclectic career, during which he has sharpened a wide array of skills with an emphasis on international operations.
Currently he is a partner with the European-American American Business Organization, Inc., a transatlantic business development consultancy, and with Strategic Ventures & Research Inc., a venture capital advisory group. Both are headquartered in New York City. He is also an advisory board member for Turtlesnap Ventures, Inc., a Baltimore-based technology transfer consultancy.
Besides his native United States, he has lived and worked in Germany, Italy, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, the Dutch West Indies, Nigeria & Cuba. Worldwide, he has experience in over 50 countries, and is fluent in German and Spanish.
First serving ten years as a U.S. Army Intelligence officer (with Meritorious Service), he established a very real-world foundation in management, decision-making, data collection, analysis & dissemination, training, psychological warfare and international negotiation & diplomacy.
Working in politics in Washington, D.C., he contributed to the conclusion of the 1993 peace treaty in El Salvador, lobbied for free trade initiatives, produced award-winning, PBS broadcasted programs on 3rd world conflict, and initiated a reforestation project in Guatemala. After a stint as a free-lance journalist in Central America, John has spent over fifteen years in business and economic development and international risk analysis under various consulting engagements in Europe, North America and Latin America.
He is a specialist in assisting business in such areas as cross-border negotiations and due diligence, marketing & distribution, PR/PA/CR, technology transfers, private fundraising & government financial incentives, partnering & acquisitions.
His record includes successfully assisting overseas operations decision-makers in the aerospace, agriculture, automotive, biotech, chemicals, construction, energy, environmental, food processing, glass, ICT, medical, multi-media & publishing, paper and water industries.
He has served as an advisor to the Minister of Economics of the third largest economy in the world, Germany, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama. He has also given expert testimony before both the U.S. Congress (on the teaching of torture at the School of Americas) and the United Nations (on the Western Sahara).
John has been widely published (e.g. American Defense Monitor, Economist, International Herald Tribune, London First Magazine, Military Intelligence Review, The Times of London, Wall Street Journal Europe, Washington Business Journal), and is a frequent speaker at industry, trade and political events.
He holds an MA in international economics from The Johns Hopkins University, an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School, and a triple-major BA from Ripon College (Wisconsin) where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
In his spare time, John is an adjunct professor of global economics at New York University, an executive committee member of the Manhattan International Development Corporation, and a passionate supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City. He is a biker, kayaker, Nordic skier and snowshoer.
