Check out our annual Careers Event, this time about International Development Careers, with Michael Dahl, Chief of Recruitment at UNDP. Michael is going to give us an overview of how the recruitment process works at the UN and give us some career management tips for anyone interested in a career at the UN or similar international development agencies.

Michael Dahl is currently the Chief of Recruitment at United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York.

Prior to joining UNDP Michael was the Chief for the Talent Management Branch at the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) for 6 years focusing on Sourcing, Branding & Outreach; Performance Management & Career Development; Workforce Planning & Succession Management; Learning & Development, Humanitarian/Surge and HR Analytics. Before that, Michael was a Senior HR Business Partner with UNICEF for 4 years, managing a team in New York supporting UNICEF with global recruitment and other HR solutions. Earlier Michael was working for the World Bank Group for 11 years where he held Sr HR business partner positions for Africa and Latin America as well as functioned as a Sr Leadership Specialist with a global focus on recruitment/succession planning for key senior leadership positions.

Michael is a Danish national and has a M.Sc. in HR from Copenhagen and worked at the Danish Ministry of Education for 4 years before focusing on international development.
