What New York City is Doing

• Pledge to be a carbon neutral city by 2050

  The Mayor’s Office for Climate and Environmental Justice has pledged to transform the city’s electrical grid to one that is 100% powered by zero-emissions resources by 2040.
  

• Climate Mobilization Act

  This law will set strict greenhouse gas emissions for buildings exceeding 25,000 square feet, starting in 2024.
  

• New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) appeal

  The ability to obtain cost-effective energy was increased through this appeal to the state government.
  

• Clean energy for NYC government-owned property

  With the city owning a number of properties throughout Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island, Queens, and Brooklyn, some of the government departments housed on these properties have made a pledge to move toward using renewable energy.
