Ambassador Andreas von Uexküll is a Swedish diplomat who prior to his current appointment as Deputy Permanent Representative served as Deputy Head of Department for Asia, Pacific, and Latin America at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. von Uexküll was appointed the Swedish Ambassador to Somalia and the Artic Council. Additionally, von Uexküll was posted as the Head of Section for Trade and Economy at both the Swedish Embassy in Washington D.C. and the Swedish Embassy in Tallinn, Estonia.
Ambassador von Uexküll previously served in New York as First Secretary for the Political Section of the Swedish Mission to the United Nations. In Sweden, von Uexküll led the Union for Swedish Diplomats and was part of a public inquiry how the Swedish Foreign Service should be organized in the future.
Ambassador von Uexküll holds a Master of Political Science from Stockholm University in Sweden. He is married to Mariliina von Uexküll and they have four children.
