The Worldview Institute 2023: Phenomenal Opportunity for Knowledge Acquisition on Diverse Global Issues

On May 13, UNA-NYC’s Worldview Institute program wrapped up its ten-week semester with a graduation dinner at the National Arts Club. Nineteen participants took part in the Spring semester course. Now in its sixteenth year, the Worldview Institute is an in-person discussion series that provides an excellent forum for knowledge-sharing and pragmatic models for global problem-solving. The seminars include a weekly catered dinner at different national missions to the UN, and program participants receive a certificate at the end of their participation. The complete list of Worldview speakers and topics for the 2023 program can be reviewed here.

Worldview presenters are distinguished lecturers, ambassadors, diplomats and business leaders. Worldview topics are designed to stimulate informal conversation with speakers from the international arena, and to illuminate and explore business, political, economic and social trends in different regions of the world. And Worldview participants are typically professionals and leaders from across New York City, who take part in the program to learn about and engage on the many global challenges undertaken by the UN.

As one participant said: “Where in New York City can you find a group of people who will listen to a spokesperson from the United Nations, from the UN general council, who will speak entirely candidly about many topics while inviting our many questions? These Worldview seminars are held in top venues, with great attendees that are wonderful to have interactions with. And even with the many fascinating topics presented, even if you think you know much about that topic, there’s always more to learn from these top-notch speakers. I highly recommend this program.”

Another participant shared her enthusiasm: “The Worldview Institute is a phenomenal opportunity for people to network and mingle together, but also to learn a lot about the collective world. Over these past several weeks, I have been fortunate to be a part of this program, to learn about many topics I would never have obtained knowledge about elsewhere. It’s great to meet others who are very passionate about global affairs and the advancement about the state of the world, and also to meet people with very diverse backgrounds, whether ethnic or professional, sharing views different from mine.”
