UNA-NYC Summer Scholar Organizes Columbia University Event on Ireland and the UN

Sreenidhi Rao, one of our 2022 Summer Scholars, recently organized a successful event on April 27 at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) on “Climate & Security to the SDG Summit: Insights from Ireland's leading role at the UN.”

The keynote speaker, James Mulligan, Senior Policy Advisor at the Irish Mission to the United Nations, provided valuable insights on climate security and Ireland's prominent position at the UN. Attendees left with a deeper understanding of the crucial intersection of climate change and global security, emphasizing the pressing need for collective action to address the ongoing climate crisis.

We look forward to our event to be held on June 8 at the Irish Mission to the UN in New York, when Ambassador Fergal Mythen, the Permanent Representative of Ireland to the United Nations, will appear in conversation with UNA-NYC Executive Vice President Robin van Puyenbroeck.
